How I’m Learning to Trust God with My Business Confidence (Even When Rejection Stings)

There have been moments in my business journey when rejection felt like a punch to the gut. When I poured my heart into a post and heard crickets. When I sent a proposal and got a “no thanks.” When someone unsubscribed, unfollowed, or critiqued something I felt God called me to do.

If you’ve ever felt that sting too, you’re not alone.

As a Christian entrepreneur, I’ve had to learn—sometimes the hard way—that my confidence can’t be rooted in responses, results, or recognition. It has to be rooted in God. Because when I place my confidence in people’s approval, every “no” chips away at my sense of worth. But when I anchor it in Him, even rejection starts to look different.

Rejection Hurts—But It Doesn’t Define Me

I won’t sugarcoat it: rejection hurts. Whether it’s being ignored on social media, a collaboration falling through, or someone questioning your calling—it’s hard. But here’s what I’ve come to believe with my whole heart:

Rejection is not always a reflection of your value. Sometimes, it’s redirection from God.

There were seasons when I felt like I was showing up faithfully but nothing was “working.” I questioned my content, my calling, even my capacity. But in those silent seasons, God was doing something deeper—refining my heart, not just my brand.

Confidence That Stands Firm Has to Be Rooted in Christ

One thing I’ve had to relearn again and again: Whose voice am I listening to?

I’ve allowed fear of rejection to make me play small. To water down my message. To post safe content instead of Spirit-led truth. But God gently reminds me—you’re already approved by Me.

“Fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:14)
“Accepted in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:6)
“You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14)

When we deeply believe that our identity is secure in Christ, rejection no longer shakes us the same way. It might still sting, but it doesn’t stop us.

Jesus Was Rejected Too—And He Kept Going

Isaiah 53:3 says Jesus was “despised and rejected by men.” Let that sink in.

The Son of God was rejected… yet He didn’t retreat. He continued. He fulfilled His mission. If even Jesus experienced rejection, why do we expect to avoid it as His followers?

That verse has been such a comfort for me. Because when I face a hard “no,” I remember I’m not walking a new path—I’m walking His path. And He’s with me every step of the way.

God Is Still Moving, Even in the “No”

I’ve started seeing rejection through a new lens—not as failure, but as filtering. God removes what isn’t aligned so He can position us for what is.

Maybe the offer didn’t land because the client wasn’t a good fit.
Maybe the post didn’t go viral because the message was for one specific heart.
Maybe the delay is because God is still preparing the right door to open.

I truly believe there’s purpose in every pause, and God’s “no” is often His protection—or His preparation.

To the Woman Struggling with Business Confidence… I See You

If you’ve been shrinking back, afraid of being too much or not enough—I get it. I’ve wrestled with those feelings, too.

But can I speak some truth over you?

You were not created to blend in. You were created to stand out.
God gave you a message, a mission, and a mantle. And yes, rejection might come—but so will redemption. So will open doors. So will divine connections you never could have planned.

Don’t let the fear of rejection rob you of your impact. Your breakthrough might just be on the other side of that next “no.”

Let’s Trust God with Our Confidence, Together

Business as a believer is a faith walk. It’s not about getting every yes—it’s about being obedient to the Yes: Jesus.

Let’s commit to showing up boldly, even when it’s uncomfortable. Let’s trust that when we surrender our confidence to God, He gives it back multiplied—with peace, strength, and grace.

Because at the end of the day, our confidence doesn’t come from our performance. It comes from our position—as daughters of the King.

💛 Friend, Don’t Give Up

If this message spoke to your heart, I want to leave you with this encouragement:

You are doing better than you think.
You are right on time in God’s plan.
And you don’t have to wait to feel fearless before you act in faith.

Your faithfulness will bear fruit—even if you can’t see it yet.
